Cover Reveal and Excerpt: All the Broken Pieces by Cindi Madsen

Hey guys! The time has come to reveal the cover for Cindi Madsen's book, All the Broken Pieces, and I'm thrilled to be a part of it! Before I show you the cover, how 'bout a little about the book?

What if your life wasn’t your own?

Liv comes out of a coma with no memory of her past and two distinct, warring voices inside her head. Nothing, not even her reflection, seems familiar. As she stumbles through her junior year, the voices get louder, insisting she please the popular group while simultaneously despising them. But when Liv starts hanging around with Spencer, whose own mysterious past also has him on the fringe, life feels complete for the first time in, well, as long as she can remember.

Liv knows the details of the car accident that put her in the coma, but as the voices invade her dreams, and her dreams start feeling like memories, she and Spencer seek out answers. Yet the deeper they dig, the less things make sense. Can Liv rebuild the pieces of her broken past, when it means questioning not just who she is, but what she is?

Doesn't that sound so awesome? I can't wait to read it :)

Anyway, now...ON TO THE COVER!!

Isn't it GORGEOUS?? I absolutely love it. Definitely one of my favorites!! It's so pretty, I don't want to stop looking at it <3 What about you?

Well, here's a reason to: I also have an excerpt from the book to share with you!! Read on!

Olivia reached up, feeling the tender spots on her head. Her fingers brushed across a row of—were those little ridges made of metal?
“Careful. The staples are almost ready to come out, but it’s still going to be sore for a while.”
Staples?!Her stomach rolled. I have staples in my head? She lowered her now-shaking hand. “Can I get a mirror?”
Mom looked at Dad, then back at her. “I don’t think that’s a good idea. Not until you’ve healed a little more.”
Mom patted Olivia’s leg. “You just relax. We’ll be back in a few minutes.”
The two of them left the room, but when Mom swung the door closed, it didn’t latch. Olivia could hear their voices in the hall.
“I still think we should…” She couldn’t make out the rest of Dad’s muffled words. “…know if I can do this.”
“…late for that,” Mom said. “We’d lose everything, including…” Her voice faded as they got farther away. “…have to move.”
Olivia could tell the conversation was tense, but the words were impossible to decipher now. Holding a hand in front of her face, she turned it back and forth. A plastic tube ran from her arm to a machine next to her bed. She peeked into her nightgown and stared in horror at the long red stripe running down her chest.
            Sick.
You’re alive. You shouldn’t be thinking about looks.

Lowering her hand, she scanned the room. I wonder how my face looks. From the way Dad stared at me, plus the fact Mom won’t let me see a mirror, it must be bad.
Brains are more important than looks.
            That’s what ugly people say.
Olivia put her hands on her head and squeezed. “Stop it,” she whispered to her arguing thoughts, hysteria bubbling up and squeezing the air from her lungs. What was happening to her? Why didn’t she recognize her parents or know where she was? Who she was? Tears ran warm trails down her cheeks. “Just make it all stop.”

Doesn't that make you want to read the book even more?

Cover Reveal: The Collector by Victoria Scott

I'm super excited to be a part of the cover reveal for The Collector by Victoria Scott! This book looks like it's going to be awesome, and the cover ROCKS.

Recently, Victoria's been sharing a few teasers for the book's cover:

Now it's the day for the cover to be revealed!! But first, a bit about The Collector:

Dante Walker is flippin’ awesome, and he knows it. His good looks, killer charm, and stellar confidence have made him one of hell’s best—a soul collector. His job is simple, weed through humanity and label those round rears with a big red good or bad stamp. Old Saint Nick gets the good guys, and he gets the fun ones. Bag-and-tag.
Sealing souls is nothing personal. Dante’s an equal opportunity collector and doesn’t want it any other way. But he’ll have to adjust, because Boss Man has given him a new assignment:
Collect Charlie Cooper’s soul within 10 days.
Dante doesn’t know why Boss Man wants Charlie, nor does he care. This assignment means only one thing to him, and that’s a permanent ticket out of hell. But after Dante meets the quirky, Nerd Alert chick he’s come to collect—he realizes this assignment will test his abilities as a collector, and uncover emotions deeply buried.

Sounds cool, right?

AND NOW.... THE COVER!!!

!!!! Awesome, right? What do you think about it? Leave your thoughts on the book/cover in the comments!! P.S. Don't forget to grab the countdown widget!! -------->

Waiting on Wednesday (on a Thursday): Prodigy by Marie Lu

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted over at Breaking the Spine, spotlighting books that have not yet been released but are being greatly anticipated. Today, my pick under the category "Totally completely awesome come out now I beg of thee" is the sequel to the fantastic Legend by Marie Lu: Prodigy.

But before I continue.

Today is Thursday. Yes, it is. Do to weirdness and lack of time, I didn't do my WoW post yesterday. But I wanted to do it today, anyway, and right in the midst of trying to decide what to post, I stumbled across Prodigy's cover reveal, which makes it eligible (in my mind, I know some people will do WoWs for a book that don't even have synopsis yet, much less a cover) for a WoW!

So, without further ado, my Waiting on Wednesday Thursday :)

(Oh, and this is a sequel, so watch out for some Legend spoilers! You've been warned ;D)

Military-trained whiz kid June and Robin Hood-esque Day met in the first book, and now are off from Los Angeles to Sin City in Prodigy (G.P. Putnam's Sons), out in bookstores Jan. 29. The Elector Primo of the Republic has died, with his son assuming power over what's left of the USA's West Coast as it teeters on full-blown chaos. June and Day join up with Patriot rebels so they can rescue Day's brother and head east for the Colonies. In order to help, though, the rebels want June and Day to kill the new Elector, who may be a step up from his dad.
(I don't know if that's the final synopsis [like, what will be on the actual book], but it sounds cool!)

I LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED Legend, so I'm totally expecting this book to ROCK! And look at that cover! It's so cool! I loved Day and June, and I'm very excited to see what happens next to them, and to their world :)

Haven't read Legend? Dude. Go read that book NOW. Seriously.

Plus, read an exclusive excerpt of Prodigy HERE!

Beautiful Covers

So, with the new year, there are a lot of new books coming out. And many of these books have absolutely fantastic covers. But there are three that are really sticking out to me right now. So, in descending order (from least favorite to most favorite) are those three gorgeous covers.

3. Timepiece by Myra McEntire

I really love this. It's totally complementary to Hourglass's cover, yet lovely and striking on its own. I don't even have words to say what I'm feeling about it. I mean, seriously, just look at it.

2. City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare

How gorgeous is this?? First off, FINALLY we've got Jace and Clary on the cover together! Secondly, I love this guy portraying Jace. Not only is he really good looking, somehow he just IS Jace. If I concretely pictured Jace (something I usually don't do with book characters) this is what he'd look like. And am I the only one thinking that this girl portraying Clary looks, like, EXACTLY like Amy Adams? Is that just me? Anyway.

1. Before I Wake by Rachel Vincent

This. Cover. Rocks. It's so pretty! And flow-y. And...I don't even know. And I kind of like that Kaylee's alone on this one. As in: I'm really glad that Nash finally got kicked off the covers. 'Cuz I kinda-semi hate him. Though, admittedly, I wouldn't mind seeing a certain blond reaper on the cover with Kaylee. Just sayin'...;)

Anyway, those are my favorite covers right now. And, honestly, I CAN'T WAIT to read the books, too!
